An important reminder for New York schools: July 1 is the annual deadline for certification submission to the New York State Education Department (SED). This year is a “basic” certification year, requiring only the signed form certifying compliance with 129-A and 129-B. The next year that will require full policy and procedure submissions is 2024 (the 2015 legislation conformed the 129-B reporting cycle with 129-A). This is a separate obligation from the 129-B Aggregate Reporting, which is due October 1 of each year.

You can view a guidance document and FAQs intended to help colleges and universities meet this compliance obligation. If you have a question about 129-B compliance, please reach out to us at info@grandriversolutions.com to connect to a member of our team.
