We are embarking on a new partnership with our colleague, Joseph Storch.  On Dec 1, 2025, Joe will assume the role of General Counsel at Excelsior University, while also continuing his long-standing relationship with Grand River Solutions.

Joe’s new role with Grand River Solutions will be as Special Advisor, delivering the thought leadership, consulting, training, and expert equity and Clery Act work for which he has earned a national reputation as a visionary expert in the field.

Joe joined our team in 2021, helping to quickly establish Grand River Solutions as an industry leader in Clery Act services. As Senior Director of Compliance and Innovation Solutions, he has played a pivotal role in developing our state-of-the-art equity case management software, Case Tracker, and advancing our broader commitment to data-driven innovation to advance equity work.

Managing Directors Jody Shipper and Cherie Scricca expressed, “It has been both a privilege and delight to have Joe as part of our leadership team. His deep knowledge of higher education law and compliance obligations, combined with his skill in translating complex thought and theory into easily understood, practical applications continues to serve and benefit our work as well as that of our clients. Even more impressive is Joe’s dedication to solving the question of ‘How can we do better?’ Whether driving the development of our software or advancing our climate survey expertise, we have been continually impressed by his commitment to help all our colleagues, our clients, and higher education more broadly.  We knew we made a great decision to partner with Joe when we asked him to join Grand River Solutions, and we are grateful that our partnership will continue.”

Joe’s decision to serve as General Counsel at Excelsior, an institution dedicated to serving students who may not otherwise be able to meet their higher education goals, aligns with his long-standing commitment to support equitable and innovative learning environments. Joe commented, “We often talk about meeting students where they are, and both Grand River Solutions and Excelsior University share the same important vision of truly and fairly supporting all members of each community in ways that drive positive personal and cultural shifts and ultimately lead to more people completing their education.”

Joe works diligently and passionately to serve and improve the lives of students across the country, and we are confident his focused efforts will continue to systematically address safety and equity challenges in education.
