Coordinator & Director Services
LaShun McGhee is a member of the Coordinator & Director Services Team at Grand River Solutions. LaShun serves as Deputy and Title IX Coordinator and provides single matter services and consulting for Title IX and EEO issues. LaShun provides guidance for small, mid-size, and large higher education institutions, where she coordinates compliance and initiates response for sex and gender-based discrimination and all other forms of protected characteristics discrimination. She creates and facilitates institutional training for students and employees, including athletics and other specialized groups. She provides guidance for and assists institutions with survey administration from implementation and monitoring to evaluation.
LaShun has expertise in various educational settings spanning fifteen years in higher education for several small and medium-sized four-year residential public and private, and two-year nonresidential public colleges and universities, along with working in partnership with K-12 schools. Prior to joining Grand River Solutions, LaShun served as Title IX Coordinator for a small liberal arts institution, where she led Title IX compliance, served as mentor to response and resolution personnel, led campus-wide training and prevention initiatives, authored policies and best practices protocols, and established community partnerships. Additionally, through those roles, she informed students, employees, and third parties of their rights and provided responses for all acts of misconduct, harassment, and discrimination. She has often served in inaugural roles in Student Conduct, Compliance and Title IX Administration, Clery Act and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and behavioral intervention teams (B.I.T.), including establishing crisis intervention plans. She has provided guidance for institutions on Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Voluntary Resolution monitoring and response, authored or co-authored various policies and protocol development for Title IX and intersecting statutes, and led training programs for students, employees, community, and nonprofits, and college and university decision-makers, administrators.
Prior to higher education, LaShun provided direct care for co-occurring populations with certifications as an addiction and mental health counselor, life coach, civil rights investigator, diversity and inclusion, and certified affirmative action professional. She also serves on the Executive Advisory Board for a professional Consortium of Title IX Professionals and engages in her community.
LaShun holds degrees in psychology with a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree from National Louis University.
LaShun has often lived the mantra of “Do what you have to do, until you can do what you want to do.” Working with Grand River Solutions allows her to do what she wants to do by assisting campuses, technical programs, and schools from an expert level on EEO and Title IX Coordinator Services, equity compliance, and discrimination, and providing work through seamless support that has intent, purpose, and impact.
