Joseph Bielevicz
Investigation, Hearing, & Appeal Services
Joe Bielevicz is part of the Investigation, Hearing, & Appeal Services Team for Grand River Solutions. In addition to his role as a Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator, Joe serves as a hearing advisor.
Previously, Joe served as an investigator for the student and employee populations at the University of Pittsburgh and Boise State University. At both institutions, he conducted investigations of alleged Title IX violations, retaliation, and discrimination and harassment based on a protected class. Joe also has experience investigating and resolving employment issues such as hostile workplace complaints, conflicts of interest, and harassment not tied to protected class status.
Prior to working in higher education, Joe served for 28 years with the Pittsburgh (PA) Bureau of Police. He was a detective in the Firearms Tracking Unit and the Homicide Squad and was assigned to a federal firearm trafficking task force for 15 years. Joe developed and delivered training to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers. He also testified before Pennsylvania and U.S. House Committees regarding gun trafficking and gun violence.
Joe earned his Master of Studies in Law and a certificate in human resources law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts in social sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
