Ericka is part of the Investigation, Hearing, & Appeal Services Team at Grand River Solutions. In addition to her role as a Title IX and civil rights Investigator, Ericka serves as a hearing advisor.
Ericka previously served as an investigator at Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she led investigations and investigated complaints involving discrimination and harassment based on protected class involving students, faculty, and staff. While at Duke University, in addition to her investigative responsibilities, she conducted informal resolutions, reviewed and edited discrimination and harassment policies and procedures, drafted consensual relationships policies, and created content for compliance-related communications such as videos and infographics.
Ericka earned her B.A. in political science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. She previously practiced labor and employment law for a federal-sector union, investigated complaints, and drafted administrative decisions for federal agencies, and served as a North Carolina court-appointed Guardian ad Litem where she conducted investigations to determine facts, needs, and appropriate resources for abused and neglected children.
