Dr. Darren Snyder is part of the Investigation, Hearing, & Appeal Services team at Grand River Solutions.
Darren previously served as a team member on Moravian University’s Equal Opportunity and Title IX Coordinator and Threat Assessment team. He also worked as a Title IX and EEO investigator for Lafayette College and a decision maker for Rider University. Darren additionally served as a faculty chair for the Criminal Justice Program for Lehigh Carbon Community College, teaching for over ten years. Darren has conducted numerous in-depth Title VI, Title VII and Title IX investigations for several colleges and universities. He has also presented training on the Clery Act, professional interviewing, criminal and civil investigations, and sex-based crimes. While in his role at Moravian University, Darren assisted with the development of new investigator, sex crime prevention, consent, and mandatory reporting training. He also developed new and revised existing EEO policies. As a professor at Lehigh Carbon Community College, he served as a mentor and worked closely with the faculty union as an advisor and member.
Prior to his work in academia and civil rights investigations, Darren served as a detective for the Easton Police Department. During this time, he was responsible for a wide range of criminal investigations ranging from sex-based crimes to homicide. Part of this role included an extensive number of interviews and training with trauma-informed processes. He also participated in numerous criminal and civil trials, thus gaining a wide range of experience in litigation. Darren also proudly served his country in the United States Army with over ten years of active duty, including tours in both Europe and the Middle East. While serving, he obtained a B.S. in Business Management and later obtained a M.S. in Justice Administration and PhD in Public Safety.
