Coordinator & Director Services
Dr. Bill Boerner is part of the Coordinator & Director Services Team at Grand River Solutions. Bill serves as a Title IX and EEO Coordinator at large and small public and private institutions across the country. As Title IX Coordinator, he oversees institutional Title IX Compliance, ensures a fair and equitable Title IX Process, supervises and mentors Title IX staff, conducts trainings, revises policies and other relevant documentation, conducts outreach and provides support to all parties engaging in the formal and information Title IX grievance process.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Bill previously served as the Interim Vice President and Associate Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Title IX Coordinator at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. In his previous role, Bill oversaw the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion division, leading inclusion goals and visioning for the colleges. As the Title IX Coordinator, he led sexual violence prevention and response, and maintained compliance training for all students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, Bill served as the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer for the State University of New York at Fredonia, overseeing diversity, equity, and inclusion, affirmative action, Title IX, and ADA compliance.
Bill has an extensive background in student affairs administration and social justice education, is a trained investigator and has experience leading intergroup dialogues and restorative justice circles. He frequently leads training and workshops related to identity, Title IX, bystander intervention, social justice, inclusion, LGBTQ+ topics, understanding bias, and navigating transitions.
Bill received his undergraduate degree in social science from Keene State College, a Master of Education from the University of Connecticut, and a Doctor of Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University. Bill holds a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Management and is a Certified Affirmative Action Professional from the American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity.
