Abby DeFeo is part of the Investigation, Hearing, & Appeal Services Team for Grand River Solutions. Abby Serves as the Resolution Services Coordinator supporting the team through assignments, allocation and forecasting, and internal assurance processes.
Abby previously served as a Compliance Coordinator at the University at Albany where she conducted Title IX and discrimination investigations involving students, faculty, and staff members and has extensive training in sexual violence cases. Prior to her work in Title IX, Abby served in law enforcement for seven years as an officer and investigator. She worked as an Internal Affairs Investigator with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, focusing on white collar criminal cases involving computer and drug offenses. She served with the Troy Police Department for five years as a Patrol and School Resource Officer.
Abby and is certified in the FETI technique of trauma interviewing. She has led student and faculty trainings in workplace discrimination, sexual violence prevention, and bystander intervention. She is also trained as a member of the Emotionally Disturbed Persons Response Team, certified as a training officer, and instructed Women in Policing at the Zone Five Training Academy.
Abby received her Master of Business Administration from Sage Graduate School, and her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology from The College of Saint Rose.
