Vivian Scott
Title IX Coordinator Services
Vivian Scott works in Title IX Coordinator Services at Grand River Solutions. With over 20 years of experience in higher education and K-12, Vivian has worked with students, administrators, faculty, staff, and key stakeholders on matters involving civil rights, equal access, student conduct, reasonable accommodations, and safety and security issues.
Prior to joining Grand River Solutions, Vivian served as the Director of Title IX Compliance at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In this role, she provided training to administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding institutional responsibilities under Title IX and managed the institutional grievance process. She also coordinated efforts with IT and Student Affairs teams to create a streamlined process to track reported incidents of protected class discrimination, and facilitated Safe Zone training to create safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff, and students. In a previous role at Broward College, Vivian was responsible for oversight of the Title IX and Student Conduct processes at multiple campus locations, where she facilitated hearings, conducted Title IX investigations as well as investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment involving students and employees, and investigated and adjudicated allegations of student conduct violations. She also coordinated campus-wide trainings and professional development, trained a team of Title IX investigators, and facilitated the operation of a Behavioral Intervention Team.
Prior to her work in higher education, Vivian served as a Social Worker in a K-8 charter school, where she assisted in the development of IEP and 504 plans to support access to the learning environment for students with disabilities.
Vivian holds a Master of Jurisprudence (JM) in Employment Law and HR Risk Management from Florida State University College of Law; a Master of Education in Learning and Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Cleveland State University; and Certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida, Muma College of Business.
