Title IX Coordinator Services
Kate Legee is a Senior Solutions Specialist at Grand River Solutions. Kate has a background in violence prevention, student conduct, employment discrimination, Title IX and EEO investigations, live Title IX and student conduct hearings, training staff and faculty, crisis response, informal resolutions, and Behavioral Intervention Team case management and protocols.
She has more than 15 years of experience working with faculty, staff, and students in public and private higher education institutions. Kate previously served as University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities and Deputy TItle IX Coordinator, where she oversaw all student behavioral issues including student investigations, live and written hearings, led campus-wide trainings on Title IX, student distress, and crisis response topics, and chaired the University Behavioral Intervention Team. Prior to UML, Kate coordinated campus-wide prevention and education programming and training for Temple University, focusing on sexual assault and interpersonal violence, alcohol & other drugs, and mental health. Kate also has extensive experience in employment matters involving individuals and unions, teaching collegiate level courses in public health and human resources, and facilitating trainings on interpersonal violence and mental health.
Prior to her work in higher education, Kate worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Oppositional Defiant DIsorder, ADHD, and Conduct Disorder as a case manager and behavior specialist. Kate has also worked as a counselor in higher education and with individuals and groups struggling with addiction.
Kate received a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Temple University, a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University, and a Bachelors Degree from Millersville University. She is currently working on her dissertation for completion of her PhD in Criminology and Justice Studies at University of Massachusetts Lowell.
