Prior to her tenure with the University of Colorado Denver and University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Karey worked as an independent consultant investigating EEO complaints for a number of Federal Executive Branch agencies, as well as served as an Assistant Director of the Office of Equity and Diversity at a medium sized private research university and as a Legal Analyst in the Federal Judiciary for the Central District of California. Karey received her J.D. from Whitter Law School and her B.A. from San Diego State University.
Karey Krohnfeldt
Director of Resolution Services
Karey Krohnfeldt, J.D. currently serves as the Director of Resolution Services with Grand River Solutions. Prior to joining Grand River Solutions, Karey served in a dual capacity as the Director of the Office of Equity and Title IX Coordinator for both the University of Colorado Denver and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. In this role, Karey directed the Office of Equity which included overseeing Title IX investigations as well as investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation involving students, faculty, and staff. She worked closely with the University of Colorado System Office and other CU campus partners to regularly develop and implement necessary policy amendments. Additionally, she served on the University of Colorado Denver’s 2020-2021 Equity Task Force which made key recommendations for the university’s Strategic Plan. These recommendations received the full support of the Chancellor and resulted in a $4 million dollar investment into new resources intended to move the campus toward its goal of being an exemplar equity serving institution. During her tenure with the university, she conducted trainings and performed numerous investigations. Karey also served as a member of the Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation Team for the Anschutz Medical Campus as well as the Special Admissions Committee for the University of Colorado Denver campus.
