Isabel Mathews
Title IX & Civil Rights Investigator
Isabel Mathews is a Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator for Grand River Solutions. She joined the team with over 5 years of experience as a Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator for multiple universities with reports involving on-campus and online students, faculty, staff, and campus guests. Isabel has served in a variety of capacities within grievance policies and resolution processes, including intake coordinator, investigator, advisor, informal resolution facilitator, hearing facilitator, hearing chair/decision-maker, and appeal panelist.
Isabel served as a Title IX Investigator for Grand Canyon University and a Civil Rights Investigator for Georgetown University where she conducted comprehensive investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, hostile environment, and retaliation based on protected categories—including age, race, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and national origin. Isabel also conducted campus and community outreach aimed at prevention and awareness. She developed and facilitated campus-wide Title IX and diversity-related trainings, workshops, and climate surveys. At Grand Canyon University, Isabel developed and managed campus programming and compliance policies. At Georgetown University, Isabel also served as Deputy Title IX Coordinator, providing resources and supportive measures for faculty and staff.
Prior to her work in equal opportunity and academic compliance, Isabel worked as a case manager for inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities specializing in mental illness and substance abuse where she gained experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. Isabel received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Berry College in 2017 and her master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in forensic psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2020.
