Ericka Lewis

Title IX & Civil Rights Investigator

Ericka Lewis is a Title IX & Civil Rights Investigator for Grand Rivers Solutions.  She previously served as an investigator at both Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she led and investigated complaints involving discrimination and harassment based on protected classes for students, faculty, and staff.  While at Duke University, in addition to her investigative responsibilities, she conducted informal resolutions, reviewed and edited discrimination and harassment policies and procedures, and created content for compliance-related communications such as videos and infographics.

Prior to her work in higher education, Ericka worked as a contract EEO investigator where she investigated employee federal sector discrimination and harassment complaints and drafted administrative decisions for federal agencies. She began her career as a staff attorney for a union in Baltimore, Maryland where she represented employees in arbitrations and federal agency proceedings.  Additionally, Ericka served as a North Carolina court-appointed Guardian ad Litem where she conducted investigations to determine facts, needs, and appropriate resources for abused and neglected children.

Ericka received her B.A. in political science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.  She is also admitted to the state bars of North Carolina and Maryland.
