Ann James
Title IX Coordinator Services
Ann James serves in Title IX and Equity Coordinator Services for Grand River Solutions. Ann brings 21 years of experience in higher education, most of which has been spent leading institutional efforts in Title IX and gender equity compliance. She has served as a Title IX Coordinator, chief conduct officer, and investigated and adjudicated many cases involving faculty, staff, and students. She has extensive experience providing training to groups both on a campus as well as in the professional community and enjoys finding creative solutions to complex problems. In addition to her experience related to Title IX and gender equity, Ann has gained expertise in crisis response, mentoring of higher education professionals, and leadership through challenge and transition.
Ann earned both her BA in political science and MA in college student development from Appalachian State University and her PhD in college student personnel from the University of Louisville. Her doctoral research was related to the impact of sexual violence on first-year college students, specifically related to perception of campus climate and engagement.
Ann lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and son, as well as their menagerie of cats and dogs.
