Abby DeFeo

Resolutions Services Coordinator

Abby DeFeo is a Resolutions Services Coordinator with Grand River Solutions. She previously served as a Compliance Coordinator at the University at Albany where she conducted Title IX and discrimination investigations involving students, faculty, and staff members. She has extensive training in sexual violence cases, and is certified in the FETI technique of trauma interviewing. She has led student and faculty trainings in workplace discrimination, sexual violence prevention, and bystander intervention.

Prior to her work in Title IX, Abby served in law enforcement for seven years as an officer and investigator. She worked as an Internal Affairs Investigator with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, focusing on white collar criminal cases involving computer and drug offenses. And served with the Troy Police Department for five years as a Patrol and School Resource Officer. She is trained as a member of the Emotionally Disturbed Persons Response Team, certified as a training officer, and has instructed Women in Policing at the Zone Five Training Academy.

Abby received her Master’s of Business Administration from Sage Graduate School, and her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology from The College of Saint Rose.
