Grand River Solutions, a leading national provider of equity services, software and products, proudly announces the appointment of Laura Cornick as Regional Account Manager for the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest states. Laura brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience working alongside higher-education institutions, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations to strengthen partnerships, align solutions to institutional needs, and advance student success, compliance, and operational excellence.
Laura is widely respected for her ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior leaders across higher education. Most recently, she served as Vice President of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA), where she partnered with presidents, cabinet members, Title IX professionals, compliance officers, and student affairs leaders across a 34-member statewide network. Her work focused on supporting institutions as they navigated complex challenges related to equity, student well-being, leadership development, and risk mitigation.
Throughout her tenure at TICUA, Laura served as a strategic connector—identifying institutional needs, aligning organizational resources, and supporting implementation of programs that strengthened campus operations and compliance capacity. She led statewide initiatives, facilitated executive-level programming, and collaborated with cross-functional teams, state partners, and national associations to ensure institutions received timely, practical guidance amid evolving federal and state policy landscapes.
In addition to her higher-education leadership, Laura brings deep experience in governance support, board development, fundraising, donor stewardship, and organizational strategy. She designed and led the Executive Leadership Institute, a year-long program preparing emerging leaders for senior executive roles, and oversaw initiatives focused on campus health, safety, prevention, and community well-being. Her consultative approach and strong communication skills have consistently resulted in high partner satisfaction, long-term engagement, and measurable institutional impact.
Laura holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Lipscomb University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Aquinas College. A first-generation college graduate, she remains deeply committed to service, mentorship, and advancing access and opportunity through collaborative, equity-centered work.
In her role at Grand River Solutions, Laura will partner with institutional leaders and organizations nationwide to strengthen client relationships and help communities cost-effectively navigate the equity and Clery Act compliance ecosystem using best-practices and practitioner-led solutions.
“Laura’s career has been defined by trust-building, thoughtful problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the realities facing higher-education leaders,” said Jody Shipper, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Grand River Solutions. “Her ability to listen, align solutions to real institutional needs, and support leaders through complex compliance and operational challenges makes her an exceptional addition to our team.”
Laura’s appointment reflects the Grand River Solutions commitment to pairing deep practitioner expertise with accessible solutions, working for clients to receive strategic partnership and support for all their equity and compliance needs.
